Sand Prop™ High Capacity Roof Support Jack
Sand Prop is a compact, high capacity roof support jack with a load
bearing capacity of 60 tons. It provides up to two inches of deformation
without buckling. The Sand Prop design is a steel tube inside another
and pre-filled with sand. During installation, this inner tube unit is
raised to the roof and the sand transfers through a hole into the lower
tube unit. This forms a new support base for the inner member and extends
the length of the Prop.
Applications for Sand Prop include:
- Tailgate and bleeder support
- Cross cut and intersection stabilization
- Belt line entry support
- Longwall shield recovery
Easy to Install
Sand Prop is easy to install with no equipment or tools required. With only one person installation, Sand Prop helps to speed up and improve productivity.
Sand Prop is available in lengths from four to eleven feet. Each unit has two feet of height adjustment.
Sand Props cannot be over-extended. They can be reused by remotely
removing the wedges and recharging the sand into the upper unit. The
prop must NOT be removed if under load. A variety of
headplate and footplate designs are available for special applications.
