Mobile AIRDOC® – Portable Mine Refuge Chamber

The Mobile AIRDOC® is a totally portable mine refuge chamber that has been manufactured for work face situations. When miners are working in a blind cutting or dead heading and are exposed to a dangerous situation such as a vehicle fire, access to the normal refuge chambers may not be possible. In such cases, the Mobile AIRDOC will provide a safe place to remain until the danger has been cleared.
The AIRDOC provides two levels of safety: a high quality filtration system to purify mine air and a patented powerless breathing air system which includes a carbon dioxide scrubber and oxygen cylinders. While not attached to mine air and in stand-alone mode, the Mobile AIRDOC Refuge Chamber can provide in excess of 36 hours of breathable air. Being a totally portable, ligh-weight unit, it can be moved and positioned very easily whilst remaining ready for use in stand-by mode.

The Mobile AIRDOC can be custom designed to meet individual customers’ needs, including physical size and equipment installed. Strata Safety Products offers a long list of built-in options and safety features and each chamber comes equipped with fork-lift slots, lifting, towing lugs and optional sturdy solid rubber wheels for ease of movement.
