120 PSI Reinforced StrataCrete Seal Receives MSHA Approval

Release April 16, 2012

ATLANTA – Strata Worldwide’s new 120 psi Reinforced StrataCrete Seal has been approved by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

The new seal is a cost-effective alternative to other 120 psi seals with improved design features and easy installation. A steel structure is installed then coated and filled with either a high-strength gunite or a proprietary concrete mix that is pumped from the surface.

The 120 psi seal is designed for openings up to 12 feet high and 40 feet wide with a seal thickness from 31 inches to 48 inches thick. The thickness is determined by the dimensions of the proposed seal location. The StrataCrete seal is specially designed to fit into areas that have limited space, such as in front of existing seals.

MSHA approved the Reinforced StrataCrete Seal on April 5, 2012. The MSHA approval number is 120M-14.0.
