The Strata Group of companies began in 1992 as a US-based operation designing and manufacturing unique roof support systems for coal mines. Strata Products adapted this technology from the gold mining industry and has since become a leading provider of underground mining roof support products worldwide.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Strata Products Worldwide has developed a strong presence in all coal mining regions in the USA.
Logistical Network of Stocked Warehouses
Our primary manufacturing operation and distribution facility is based in Sutton, West Virginia. Sixty percent of the underground coal mines in the USA are within a 150 mile radius of this facility enabling us to provide fast customer response and delivery.
Along with the Sutton, WV facility, Strata Products Worldwide has a warehouse in Grand Junction, Colorado serving the western states. This strategic advantage enables us to deliver products and services quickly and at the lowest possible installed cost, saving our customer’s valuable production time and money.

1999 Strata Mine Services is Incorporated
Strata Mine Services was formed in 1999 primarily to install the Strata Preloaded Block Seal. Strata Mine Services has since grown and expanded to offer a variety of seal designs and a full range of mining construction services and technical support.
2006 Strata Products Safety Division is Formed
Following the tragic events of the Sago Mine disaster in 2006, Strata Products saw a need for more safety options in underground mining–specifically coal mining. After traveling the world researching the most advanced safety and refuge products, Strata Products engineers designed a range of innovative refuge chambers and CO2 scrubbers for use in the United States underground mines.
Strata Products Safety Division offers a steel-sided, walk-in chamber and an inflatable refuge chamber safe for use in coal mines. Our sophisticated and unique carbon dioxide scrubber places our refuge chambers above the rest in the coal mining industry.
In March 2007, Strata Products Safety Division became Strata Safety Products LLC.
