Mining Project Manager - Western US

The project manager position is responsible for representing Strata with clients and consultants on virtually any range of subjects related to construction projects and for making decisions on behalf of the Strata. This position will oversee projects from start to completion. Responsible for determining solutions for clients by assessing projects and determining the materials needed to complete the project in a timely manner to satisfy customer needs. The role will provide one on one customer support and will manage personnel working on these projects to ensure work is performed safely and productively.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Serves as the point of contact of expertise in the installation of Strata products and services of Strata such as: Overcasts, seals, glue, foam and other applications to current and potential clients
  • Provides highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to clients
  • Directs team members (employees and consultants) at all levels of contract administration
  • Controls any number of projects at various stages of work
  • Consults with clients to determine requirements of bid projects and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs and construction time
  • Plans layouts of projects and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval
  • Represents Strata in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts
  • Responds to current and potential client inquiries about projects
  • Keeps functional backup equipment readily available for emergency service calls
  • Orders materials, parts & supplies as needed for managed projects
  • Assists HR to develop and maintain communications with employees
  • Maintain current working knowledge of all applicable OSHA, MSHA and Strata safety and health policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain compliance during working projects
  • Assist HR in the management of the drug and alcohol program

Test Engineer

The incumbent will assure consistent quality testing of production units both internally and at Contract Manufacturing partners by maintaining and enforcing acceptance testing, research and development tests, and continual product development.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Conducts the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for new and existing electronic products, systems, components, or modifications.
  • Identifies functional problems and leads the analysis, and interpretation of test results.
  • Supports quality plan as implemented by the Quality & Reliability Manager.
  • Designs and develops test fixtures, test processes, and test methodologies to be implemented internally and at Contract Manufacturers.
  • Effectively interacts with manufacturing and development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Provides feedback to engineering and management to allow for continual product improvement. 
  • Performs Acceptance Testing for finished product manufactured at contract manufacturers.

  • Must be willing to travel domestically to support field and contract manufacturing operations (up to 25%)
  • Must be willing to travel globally when required (no more than 10%).

Supply Chain Manager

Strata has an opening for a Supply Chain Manager. Strata is looking for a manager who can overhaul our supply chain protocols, procedures, and strategy. The manager will supervise Strata’s Contract Manufacturers to improve our product availability while limiting the required inventory to be kept on hand. The Supply Chain Manager will also monitor and audit the quality control implemented by Strata’s contract manufacturers.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Create supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency and speed of manufacture of electronic safety products
  • Supervise production of contract manufacturers and maintain a updated report of delivery timelines
  • Establish agreements with contract manufacturers and suppliers to maintain inventory of critical components and minimize risk of supply shortages
  • Familiarity with electronic components and ability to recommend substitute components when required
  • Coordinate ordering of new product builds with inventory and product managers
  • Monitor and audit quality control of contract manufacturers
  • Implement the use of product lifecycle management (PLM) software to control production documents
  • Manage RMA repair process performed by Strata technicians and contract manufacturers
  • Maintain a highly detailed and comprehensive history of supply and product repairs

Senior Software Engineer

Strata has an opening for an embedded software engineer in our Proximity Detection Division. The engineer will architect new designs on both embedded processors and PCs. Although embedded development will be the primary goal the engineer will be required to work closely with the hardware engineering staff to develop user interfaces to aid in development and user experience. Additionally the ideal engineer will implement and create digital signal processing and device control algorithms.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to design industrial electronic products from the ground up
  • Take ownership in each product’s lifecycle (design, production, field evaluation, upgrades and improvements)
  • Witness firsthand product use in the field and refine as necessary
  • Evaluate and integrate new sensor technologies (RF, Magnetic, Acoustic, Visual, Accelerometer, GPS, and more)
  • Develop user interface ranging from push button and LED controls through smart phones, tablets and PCs.

Occupational Health Analyst

This position will serve as the primary contact and source of assistance for injured workers during the Workers’ Compensation claims process. The analyst will serve as a liaison between the injured employee and Third Party Administrator and Strata management to ensure a smooth claims handling process. The analyst will be the initial contact for all injured workers during the workers’ compensation claims process for both the company-wide office and field operations. This position will be responsible for reducing lost-time days and workers’ compensation claims costs. The analyst will support the safety department by compiling data to identify injury trends and assist the department mitigating future reoccurring injuries. This position will manage the process of recording of employee working hours to state, federal agencies and third party vender monitoring accounts. In addition, the analyst will track and maintain employee safety training requirements to ensure compliance with all OSHA, MSHA and other state and local agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Facilitate strong communication between Strata Worldwide, injured employees and Third Party Administrator.
  • Thoroughly investigating workers’ compensation claims by contacting injured workers, witnesses to the injury, medical providers, and employer representatives
  • Create a consistent, quality approach to the post-injury management process.
  • Serve as an advocate for the injured workers. Provide reassurances, answer questions, identify and address concerns.
  • Provide prompt, positive, proactive contact with injured employee throughout claims process.
  • Coordinate with the TPA for referral to qualified designated occupational medical clinics.
  • Utilize Transitional Duty, when appropriate, to quickly and safely return employees to work.
  • Conduct immediate follow ups with TPA to advise of Transitional Duty options and to secure meaningful work restrictions.
  • Provide informed communication back to the injured employee’s direct supervisor, and on-site team when appropriate.
  • Maintain quality contact with claims adjuster and work with them to develop effective action plans.
  • Identify “red flags” during claims process; work with TPA on difficult cases requiring special case management and/or surveillance.
  • Maintain accurate log of communications, activities, and contacts associated with each claimant.
  • Provide support to the safety department by providing analytics and recommend future prevention of injuries
  • Track and maintain employee safety training requirements to ensure compliance with governing agencies
  • Manages the process of recording of employee working hours to state, federal agencies and vender monitoring accounts

Electro Mechanical Assembly Technician

This position will be responsible for the assembly, modification and repair of electronic hardware and prototype electronic circuitry for Strata Worldwide.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Assembles, modifies, and repairs printed circuit boards (PCBs), cable assemblies, control panels, vehicle and personnel carried electronic devices
  • Solders fine-pitch surface mount components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Responsible for assembly of mechanical components for small and medium scale devices
  • Ability to work from electronic and mechanical assembly documentation, wiring schematics, or create own written procedures when given verbal instructions.
  • Maintain product inventory accuracy by tracking all material transfers. Order replacement/repair components and maintain inventory of frequently used components and tools on own accord.
  • Observes good housekeeping and safety procedures and keeps equipment, tools and work area clean.  Maintains a well-organized stock of replacement components.
